Vegeta Z2
"Show me what you got!"
movelist
Standing Medium Kick Chain
Standing combo extender.
Uppercut (launcher)
Main tool for launching enemies into the air after which you can persue them (by pressing Up) with an aircombo.
Wolverine Sweep
A low lunging attack which knocks the opponent down on impact, but leaves you quite open if blocked.
Extended Jumping Weak Kick
You're able to hold down the knee kick, so it remains able to hit an opponent all the way until Vegeta lands, based off how jumping Light attacks worked in SF2.
Jumping Medium Punch chain
Air combo extender.
Piston Kick (bounce-juggles)
Main tool for smashing opponents down to the ground during an aircombo. If an aerial opponent is hit by this move, they'll fly to the ground and bounce up upon impact, allowing for a juggle combo.
Backdash Elbow
Alternate dashing elbow attack. After performing the backflip backdash, Vegeta dashes forward with the elbow attack, which can be chained into standing/crouching medium attacks, making it a pretty sweet combo starter. Can be chained into from his Focus Attack; as soon as the Focus hits, input the b,b+SP and Vegeta performs the move, albeit a slightly alternate version; doing a smaller hop instead of the backflip.
Sliding Kick
A low dashing attack that can catch the opponent off guard as Vegeta dashes towards them. Trips the opponent's legs and sends them a bit into the air, allowing some juggling. Can be chained into from his Focus Attack, as with nearly all 'running' attacks. Vegeta can chain the Machine Gun Temper into the Sliding Kick by imputting the Sliding Kick command at any time during the Machine Gun Temper, but be aware that you're 'committing' to the dash and slide kick then. However the combination of high attacks with the low attack is an effective one.
Ki Blast
Vegeta comes armed with his own variation of the Ki Blast. The single version is nearly identical to Goku's; strenght, speed and usage-wise. Vegeta can also shoot a second consecutive blast. Different from Goku though, Vegeta is able to charge up either one of these blasts; holding down the punch button makes Vegeta charge up his blast, which comes in two levels (the uncharged version would be the Lv1 version): Lv2 is a blue-ish blast that hits twice. Lv3 is a double-handed fired larger blast that hits three times. The EX version immediately fires the LV3 version. You're able to fire one or two normal blasts and then combo into the EX version for a really stylish mini-assault.
Machine Gun Temper
A volley of 4 Ki Blasts are shot. As expected, the Weak version's projectles are slow, while the Strong version's are fast. The EX version adds another 2 Ki Blasts, totalling at 6. You can combo this into the Sliding Kick as described above. The aerial version has Vegeta shooting the blasts vertically at the ground. Weak version has him slowing down a bit while the Strong version adds a bit momentum to him. There is an aerial EX version but it's only available during his Rage Mode. You are able to chain the Ki Blasts into his Machine Gun Temper, but it will automatically be the EX version.
Wolverine Flip
Versatile move that is only really useful in the hands of skilled, experienced players. The Flip can act as a quick suprise move and also as an anti-air of sorts. The Weak version is very fast (and has really fast recovery) but has little range, while the Strong version takes a while to come out but has more range. You're able to go either forward or backward. Most importantly, Vegeta has quite a few follow-up options;
-Forward Dash - hold Forward - he dashes forward upon landing. -Backward Dash - hold Back - he performs his backdash upon landing. -Super Jump - hold Up - he performs a Super Jump upon landing. -Dashing Elbow - hold any P - He performs a straight dashing elbow, hits high. -Extended Backdash Elbow - hold Back, then SP - He does the backdash flip and then the dashing elbow. -Wolverine Sweep - hold any K - identical to his crouching Strong Kick, although he now has three versions available, Weak having a short range and Strong a long range. -Close Explosion - hold LP + LK - Vegeta dashes forward and attemps to grab the enemy. As it's a grab, it's unblockable. Useful either if the opponent was hit or blocked the initial Wolverine Sweep. Rising Knee Arrow
Excellent anti-air attack, based off an attack of the same name he had in DBZ Hyper Dimension. The attack chains off most normals. The EX version bulks to move up to a 3-hitter. Besides being able to supercancel into the aerial Galick Gun or Bakuhatsuha, it has a combo-ender follow-up:
-Bomber Kick - QCF+K - A powerful kick that sends the opponent flipping backwards.
Galick Gun (LV1)
Instead of a single multi-hitting energy blast, Vegeta fires out a volley of multiple single-hitting energy waves. The aerial version fires the waves vertically down. As with the Kamehameha, you are able to chain the Lv1 version into the Lv2, granted you have the required amount of power bar available (Lv1+Lv2 so Lv3; a full Power Bar).
Bakuhatsuha (LV1) (burns)
Vegeta takes a leap back while he also creates a large flamey explosion in front of him. Awesome move in both offensive and defensive use. When used in the air, he immediatly creates the explosion on the ground without first jumping backwards.
Galick Gun (LV2)
Souped-up version that lets Vegeta fire 20 waves rather then 5. Retains the aerial version.
Bakuhatsuha (LV2) (burns)
Souped-up version that creates two explosions in a row, one in front of the other.
Final Flash (LV3)
Based off M.Bison's Final Psyco Crusher in SFA3, Vegeta slides backwards out of the screen and then fires his Final Flash into the screen, doing major damage though it can be blocked and dodged by crouching. With proper screen-placement and timing, you can combo into this after ground-bouncing the opponent.
Bakuhatsuha (LV3) (burns)
Three explosions in a row! What a brutal move, well-suited for Vegeta. It's always well-worth to dish out this move even for the just wow-factor of it.
Galactic Gunfire (LV3)
Vegeta's Ultimate Move starts out with a Bomber Kick (which you can combo into), which can be delayed by holding down the kick button. When it hits, the opponent is launched into the air, after which Vegeta teleports above them and stomps them back down. Then, he starts charging up energy. During this part, two icons will appear onscreen beside Vegeta, indicating that the player can mash buttons to speed up the energy charging; doing so will result in more Ki Blasts being fired down. Without the button mashing, the move isn't very damaging, so always be ready to start mashing! When performed during Rage Mode, it has three possible Finishers depending on how far the Rage Bar is filled;
-Lv1 - Charged Blast. -Lv2 - Dirty Fireworks. -Lv3 - Final Galick Gun.
activate Rage Mode (LV2)
Activating Rage Mode has Vegeta going into a fit of fury! This changes a few things, gameplay-wise.
- At activation, you will see a full Buffer Bar (blue), an empty Rage Bar (orange) and a grey kanji (which stands for 'rage). - Loses Power Charge, Wolverine Flip, Dash Elbow and Zetto Counter moves. - In Rage mode, Vegeta gains access to EX Aerial Machine Gun Temper. - EX Ki Blast and EX Machine Gun can be performed with no power, but they drain the Buffer Bar. The mode ends if the Buffer Bar is completely drained. - Level 1 supers can be performed with no power but it cancels the Mode. - Level 2 and 3 supers are disabled with the exception of Galactic Gunfire. - Galactic Gunfire is not chargeable anymore but becomes unblockable. - Galactic Gunfire costs Lv2 instead of Lv3 but can be performed only when the kanji is Lv1 or more and takes you out of the mode upon activation. - Gains finishers for Galactic Gunfire, depending on the level of the Rage Bar. GameplayWhat?! Vegeta is the shoto of the game?! Either it be staying back and using his very fast ex ki blast, or playing rush down with wolverine flips and MGT pressure, Vegeta is your all around fireball character. He has massive chip on all his specials allowing him to get cheap kills rather easily. MGT can lock someone down from nigh-fullscreen while they watch this badass saiyan glide his way to them. While he is relatively strong pressuring and zoning, if the opponent can easily nullify or punish his fireballs Vegeta is forced into his weaker approach game without it, use this to your advantage.
