Gotenks Z2
"I'm kinda a big deal"
MOVELIST
Flurry Punch
Taking a clue from SSJ Goku, Gotenks's standing Medium Punch is a flurry of quick punches while he slides forward, and ends with a tribute to Bruce Lee in the form of a knuckle punch. Holding down the Medium punch button has Gotenks performing the flurry punch infinitely, until he hits the opponent or is hit out of the animation by the opponent.
Can-Can Dance
Gotenks shows off his moves by doing a double knee kick, which is a nice little combo extender and looks fancy!
Spin Spin Punch (max wall-bounces)
Tapping the Strong Punch button lets Gotenks swoop out a standard straight punch. But if you hold the button pressed-in, Gotenks will go into a pose while he spins his arm around very fast, creating a circle of energy. When you release the button, he dashes forward and delivers a more powerful punch. There's three levels to this, with the maximum level letting Gotenks dash forward so fast it appears almost instant, and delivering a punch that creates an explosion on impact, knocking the opponent away hard and bouncing them off the wall. If you hold Up during the spin spin state, Gotenks will begin to hover. He'll slowly start to descend back down if you let go of Up. You can cancel the charge by dashing out of it, whether on the ground or in the air.
Spin Spin Upper (launches)
Works identical to the Spin Spin Punch (you can even perform it by first holding down Strong Punch and then later holding down the Back button), except when the move comes out, it's an uppercut instead of a straight punch. The maximum-charged version is a huge uppercut with a hit box surrounding Gotenks; it'll even hit the enemy if they are behind you!
Fantastical Footwork
Gotenks gets fancy! His standing Strong Kick is a 2-in-1 jumping kick, which on its own is pretty solid. But after the first of those two kicks has hit you can input either SK for a quick variant of his aerial Strong Kick (flip drop kick) or down+SK to go directly into his crouching Strong Kick (power slide).
Cossack Dance
Hey Hey Hey! Gotenks can perform his crouching Medium Kick three times in a row, kicking with left, then right, then left again.
Nut Crusher
A suprise attack to the opponent's lower waist which knocks them away.
Power Slide
Power Sliiiiide! This attack trips the opponent. Can also be performed while running, which gives it a bit more range. After tripping the opponent, you can combo into the crouching Strong Punch (Nut Crusher), knocking the opponent away.
Stand On You
For the jumping Strong Kick, Gotenks flips forward and then does a downward drop kick with both legs. Mind that it comes out a little slow. If the kick hits the opponent, Gotenks rebounds upward and will be able to continue with an attack, for instance an airdash or even his Miracle Blasts.
Charging Bull Attack
Moooo! When the Strong punch button is pressed while Gotenks is running, he assumes his pattented Charging Bull pose. If he hits the opponent with this, he leaps up and they're launched into the air while he switches sides with them. You can juggle the opponent as they come back down. If it's blocked, Gotenks staggers backwards.
Miracle Blast
From the air, Gotenks fires a Ki Blast diagonally downward. The speed the Ki Blast travels at is determined by the Punch button strenght: Weak is slow, Strong is fast. Medium as always is inbetween. You can fire another blast by repeating the command or even perform one or two and then cancel into the EX version, which fires two blasts automatically. You're able to keep some momentum while fireing these blasts. Fireing one gives a bit of recoil to Gotenks, delaying his downward trajectory. The EX version fires two shots, and you can also fire it twice in single jump.
Insult!
Gotenks disses the enemy by calling them naughty names, realized in a short-to-medium shockwave he shouts out. This shockwave can cancel out the opponent's Ki Blasts. The EX version's shockwave travels fullscreen and keeps the enemy stunned in mid-air even longer, like sitting ducks just waiting to be hit by a follow up attack.
Dynamite Headcrusher
Gotenks charges up, then rockets off into the air. After a short while, he comes back down like a meteor, head-first, ready to smash into the opponent. If he hits them, they are knocked down and Gotenks recoils backwards. If he happens to miss the opponent, Gotenks crashes onto the ground, then staggers backwards. Luckily, like Goku, he has a head made out of granite. The EX version also hits on the way up.
Hero Stance
Gotenks assumes a wicked cool pose, which can lead into one of four different follow-up attacks which are detailed below. If you do nothing, Gotenks will remain in the Hero Stance indefinitely. The Stance is cancelled by pressing any Punch button. You can also make for a quick escape by pressing Up, which makes Gotenks instantly perform a Super Jump on the spot. As long as Gotenks is in the Hero Stance, his power bar will slowly fill up.
Dynamic Entry!
Gotenks leaps back towards the wall, on which he kicks off and launches himself towards the enemy, butt-first!
Ballerina Tornado!
A mad tornado kick is unleashed! There are two version of this. If you don't hold the Medium Kick button down, the opponent will get knocked away by the first kick. If you do hold the button down, the opponent will get hit multiple times, but won't get knocked away, thus leaving Gotenks wide open to a counter attack as he goes into a dizzy state after ending the attack. If during the Tornado you hold Forward, Gotenks will move forward a lot faster! Holding Backwards, his momentum slows down to a near stand-still.
Superman!
Gotenks leaps bravely into the air, hitting anyone who's in his path! With good insight and timing, this can even be used to quickly pass over projectiles coming towards you and switching sides with your attacker. After connecting, you can continue with an aircombo on the enemy.
Wolf Fang Fist!
Gotenks unleashes a Berserker Barrage-type move! There are two variants of the attack. The variant performed with 2P is the most Berserker Barrage-like, Gotenks dashes forward while doing big slashes and ends with a wolf blaster. The 2K variant has Gotenks speedily dashing forward with a leaping kick. Only if the kick hits, will he go into a multi-punch barrage ending with a wolf blaster. This move's too cool for school!
Taunting!!
Thought that Super Buu had many taunts? Gotenks steps it up by having more variations per situation (standing, crouching or jumping) AND he has his Ghost Bros joining in on the taunting action! There's a special taunt when Ghosts are present, by pressing Forward+Start. Taunts have a bonus feature in that they add a bit to your Finisher Bar. Do these repeatedly to tick off your opponent!
Continuous Die Die Missiles (LV1)
A super version of his Miracle Blast and one of his most famous attacks, the Die Die Missiles makes Gotenks unleash a flurry of air-to-ground Ki Blasts after jumping up high into the air. When performed in the air, Gotenks will unleash the attack right away from his current position.
Super Volley Serve Attack! (LV1)
After a mighty serve that knocks the opponent into the air, Gotenks then leaps up and performs a devastating spike, sending the opponent flying back to the ground, after which they'll bounce up again, ready for Gotenks to sink his teeth into some juggling. This move can be enhanced by first producing some Ghost Bros; the Ghosts will get in on the volley action!
Galactica Donut
A magical attack! Gotenks creates a ring of energy, which he then shoots forward in an attempt to surround the opponent. When that succeeds, they will get trapped by the ring, squeezed tightly by it. The opponent will be frozen in place and be completely vurnerable to attacks. After a couple of seconds, the Donut explodes, setting the opponent free but in a world of hurt!
Ghost Bros (LV1)
Gotenks spits out two of his Ghost bros, who'll follow him around. These are his homies! There's a few commands you can give to these bros, detailed below.
Go Go Ghost!
One of the Ghost Bros is sent forward to attack, homing towards the enemy, and will explode upon impact with them! An alternative command to fire out a Ghost while performing other attacks is LP+LK.
Ghost Headcrusher
A special trick that Gotenks tought the ghosts, they can mimic his Dynamic Headcrusher move! Acts similar to the Go Go Ghost in that they fly towards the enemy in a kamekaze attempt, only with this move they fly up out of the screen and then come back down.
Ghost Mine
One of the Ghost Bros is ordered to salute on the spot! You can deploy them as mines like this, as they'll explode when the enemy touches them in this state. You lose control over the ghost in question, however you can order them back in line with the call-back command, detailed below.
Get Back Here!
One of the Ghost Bros that has been planted as a mine will be called back into the conga line, after which they'll follow Gotenks around again and you can give them new commands.
Continuous Die Die Missiles (Lv2)
The Level 2 version has Gotenks shooting out many more Ki Blasts! Killer move.
Galactica Beach Ball
A magical attack! Gotenks creates a couple of rings of energy, which he then shoots forward in an attempt to surround the opponent. When that succeeds, they will get trapped by the rings and get formed into a beach ball, a temporary cursed state, which also lasts a bit longer then the Donut trap. Gotenks can knock them around and the ball will bounce off the walls. After a while, the ball will explode and revert the opponent back to their normal form. Again, leaving them in a world of hurt! Haha, take it!
Ghost Posse (LV2)
Same as the Lv1 version but he spits out not two, but five Ghost Bro's! They are commanded one-by-one, and have the same commands as the Lvl1 version. If you perform the Ghost Posse while you already have two ghosts around (from a previous Ghost creating super), he'll only create three more. If you have 1 already, he'll create 4 new ones. In short; the total of Ghosts Bros created by this move and the Lvl1 version will never exceed 5 on-screen at the same time.
SSJ3! (LV3)
This is to go even further beyond! Gotenks powers up to the mighty Super Saiyan 3 mode, which lasts temporary (his power bar starts to drain as soon as you enter the mode and he'll exit the mode when it runs out). While in this mode, he'll hover around and has increased armor, allowing him to plow over the enemy with ease! He loses a lot of abilities (most noticable crouching and blocking) and is left with a reduced move set, but the gained super armor is worth it. It's a nice change of pace, at least! A final note: If you carry over any Ghosts that you created prior to your SSJ3 transformation; the Ghost carry-out commands still work here! He retains Go Ghhost, Ghost Mine, and Ghost Headcrusher.
Cataclism Flick
Swish! A simple flick of the fingers. Though at SSJ3 strenght, this means the enemy is knocked back very hard! This'll be your main move to use to flick the enemy into the dimensional portal.
Sonic Spinball
Hey Hey! We know you love all the Sonic references, so here is one in full force! This move aims towards the enemy (if done when jumping, he arcs downwards) and hits twice.
Victory Blast
Bwaah!! A fine mouth blast that knocks the enemy down.
Victory Pound
Smash!! A powerful ground pound that creates a quake so hard that the opponent is launched into the air.
Ghost Buddy
A simplefied version of the Ghost Bro, this one doesn't cost any super bar to use and shoots off towards the enemy right away.
Dimensional Portal
Roar! Gotenks lets out a scream so powerful it creates a rift in the dimension. This doesn't harm the enemy. That is, until Gotenks knocks them into the portal! At that point, they become his plaything. Light Punch creates the portal close to Gotenks, while Strong Punch creates it farther ahead on the screen. Medium is somewhere inbetween. When performed in Power Mode, depending on how far the power bar is filled, Gotenks will end this attack with one of these Finishers:
Lv1 - Big Tree Kamehameha
Lv2 - Bro Force
Lv3 - Super Best Final Cruncher Attack!
Portal will do a Lvl0 ender attack if he is not in SSJ2 or doesn't have at least 1 finisher bar.

Lv2 - Bro Force
Lv3 - Super Best Final Cruncher Attack!
Portal will do a Lvl0 ender attack if he is not in SSJ2 or doesn't have at least 1 finisher bar.
Exit Burst
When the timer on your SSJ3 runs out, Gotenks pulls off this last ditch effort; a full-body energy burst, which knocks the enemy away. You can also manually perform this at any time while SSJ3, but only in Training Mode. And hey, guess what? This attack can ALSO lead to his Finishers!
Activate Super Saiyan 2 Mode (Lv2)
Gotenks gets cocky! He transforms to Super Saiyan 2 and gets buffed up! Damage and defense increase and all basics get changed in some way, whether it's hit/hurtboxes or speed. And as expected, SSJ3 Beatdown costs Lvl2 instead of Lvl3 (but you still get a full Lvl3 power bar that acts as your SSJ3 timer) and gets Finisher at the end of it.
You gain two bars; a power bar (top, yellow) and a Finisher bar (red, bottom). The power bar is great; you actually gain 3 power bars. So if you just keep powering up, combined with your default power bars, you can get up to 6 full power bars. Then you have more then enough stock to dish out some major damage!
The Finisher bar manages which Finisher will be played once you've managed to knock the enemy into the Dimensional Portal in SSJ3 mode. This Finisher bar fills up by doing specific actions:
-Being in Hero Pose.
-Being in Spin Spin Pose.
-Taunting. Taunting while having Ghost Bros gives a greater amount!
-Performing Insults.
Unlike any other character, Gotenks remains in his SSJ2 mode after performing his Finisher.

Super Taunt
Even exiting his SSJ2 mode is done in a flashy and entertaining manner! Take a seat, Dan! By performing this Exit move, all current Finisher Bar filling will be converted to Power Bar.
