(insert system here)mario strikes back with another shitty character, after his recent April Fools' Stunt on MUGEN Guild revealed that really not very many people would miss him if he just killed himself right now. But I'm getting ahead of myself. He's decided to release his attempt at making an SvC Chaos Zero, and while not the worst version of the character, it still sucks.
The graphics and sound are fine; ripping from SvC is hardly difficult. His crappy Matrix Mode sprite edits are, well, crappy sprite edits, but there's really nothing remarkable here to speak of.
(insert system here)mario included two versions of the character: "SvC," which supposedly plays like SvC Chaos, and "CvS," which plays absolutely nothing like CvS in the slightest. SvC is a decent representation of the SvC Zero moveset - in fact, when I first tried him, I was rather shocked that I didn't immedietly notice anything wrong. But then I remembered to check for the #1 Most Common (insert system here)mario bug:
Nothing chains and nothing combos.
What the fuck, dude. You've gotten so many complaints over you fucking this up with all your previous shitty characters, I'd think you'd have enough of a fucking clue to get this right. How hard is it to add a few fucking chains so Zero plays like he does in the original game, dumbass? Quit coding stupid fucking gimmicks and make the character work already.
CvS mode is worse, really. Zero now has his buster shot and sword slashes mapped to Z and C, and he's got a completely different (and largely inferior) moveset. Here, typical (insert system here)mario damage values come into play. 400 damage from a fucking special throw. That's 40% of a bar, and the same amount of damage as the QCFQCF+A super. And 100 damage less than the QCFQCF+X super, which like the A button one, takes only one meter.
The moves are all TERRIBLY creative, too. I think (insert system here)mario must believe that you are legally required to include a Dragon Punch type move and a Shoryureppa type move. He's also got a shitty "projectile reflection" move, but it only works against select fireballs, and not even all of his own Zero's fireballs can be reflected. Come on, guy. Don't bitch about it in your readme if you're not even going to do it yourself.
As I briefly mentioned above, he also added a gimmicky "MATRIX GROOVE," but that just gives you a shitty black palette and crappy sunglasses added to select sprites. That's not a "Groove." That's a stupid alternate palette. Don't hype it so much.
This character's really not that bad... but it's also not very good, either. (insert system here)mario knows about most of the bugs in this, I'm sure, as they're ones he's done a million times before. He just doesn't seem to care. I'm sure he'll just tell us that we're "supposed to block it" when we bitch about an overpowered move, and he'll come up with some other bullshit excuse to get out of implementing any sort of combos. Don't waste your time humoring him. Do everyone a favor and give us the best birthday present ever, (insert system here)mario:
Kill yourself.
Update: (insert system here) Mario has given his shitty excuses as to why two-in-ones, the most simple sort of combo possible in a fighting game, weren't included:
"I don't really take the time to do them. There have been some characters which I did this, but not all of my characters. Are they really neccessary, needed that badly? If you want to have the two-in-ones, add them yourself, I guess."
So, if you want a Zero that's truly accurate to SvC, with his combos from that game, you're going to have to make him yourself, because (insert system here) Mario doesn't believe they're necessary! What a fucking retard.
