Another character announced by DDM all-star Mature4Ever (now known as ArchaicGamer). Another week passes by. Another "completed" character. Well, the subject of my review today is Skullman, ripped from MegaMan 4. ArchaicGamer surpasses expectations once again, and manages to actually make a character play worse in MUGEN than in the MegaMan game the character was ripped from.

Graphics: MegaMan 4 looks decent, and even though it is ripped from an NES game, it does look like SNES. That is a plus, and that is probably the only plus I can think of right now. ArchaicGamer follows a simple formula for all of his characters: 1.) Rip 5 sprites. 2.) Throw them over Kung Fu Man. 3.) Release as a complete character. Well, AG, I'm sorry to break it to you, but this formula is definitely not working.

What gameplay is there to review? Skullman can't crouch, and when he jumps there is a second of downtime before he gets off the ground. He has no forward dash, he simply floats, like all of AG's characters. He has 2 basic attacks, a energy ball and a punch. The punch is useless, and I doubt you can ever get close enough to the opponent to make the punch even look like it can touch the area 10 feet around player 2. The coding is sloppy as hell, and is full of millions upon millions of invalid states.

Archaic Gamer never seems to learn from his mistakes. His characters are crappy because he finishes his characters, looks at them, and is satisfied with just how crappy they are. Hopefully some day in the future he can look back on all of this and say to himself, "what the hell was I thinking?"

and then he can swallow a metal fork.

Pros and Cons
+ Pretty sprites. Until they move.

- Lacking gameplay.
- Horrible coding.
- Just plain bad.

Overall Score: 10
