download: MUGEN AFTER SHOCK!

Let's start with the good things about the new Insane Hiryu.

...

...

Hang on, I'll think of it.

Okay, we'll just skip to the bad. Easy infinites, crazy random mode selections, ridiculous move commands, and all that other fun shit we've come to expect from Sinasta. Easy infinite one: ducking HP. Over and over. YOU WIN. Easy infinite two: QCF+C, QCF+C, QCF+C... How the fuck do you miss crazy shit like that?

Most of the moves are the same as ever, and if you can even manage to do them, they'll bore you. Eventually, though, you'll activate one of Clazy Hiryu's modes, which we'll call "Ninja Dance Party" mode, as Sinasta forgot to include a readme of any sort. After the ridiculously long startup of Ninja Dance Party, Hiryu will gain a new and improved gay palfx and afterimage, and awful dance music will play in the background, overriding anything that was already playing. You can then do some new and differant moves, but they all basically still suck, and some of the moves that worked in other modes now mysteriously FAIL TO HIT. Come on, duder.

The movement choices for half the supers are completely random and ridiculous. QCF+X+A? What the fuck? That's just fucking weird. You've got perfectly good motions like QCF+X+Y or QCF, QCF + X that you haven't used, Sinasta. Why the crazy bizzaro ones that seem to be randomly picked? It just doesn't make sense.

Ah, I nearly forgot. Insane Hiryu also features fucking awful CLSNS, as always. Check out image 5 (it's animated!). They often don't cover the whole character, or blink out of existence momentarily, or in general do weird things. Is it really so hard to use a few CLSNDefaults so you don't re-draw CLSN boxes for NEARLY IDENTICAL FRAMES? I guess so.

There's really just not much reason to try this character. It's not unique, there are still bugs from the first release in here, and Sinasta still doesn't care. Neither should you.

Save yourself some time and download this two-meg AVI file featuring ninja dance party mode instead of the six meg Insane Hiryu download. You'll thank me later.

Pros and Cons

- Everything.

Overall Score: 10
As long as this is the best that Mugen After Shock can do, skilled creators have nothing to worry about.
