Ex Infernis decided to release this lovely beta of Abubo
from Rage of the Dragons. Merely from the other high quality
"releases" in the past by this sultry fellow,
I knew that I would regret having visited this fellow's
site, much less downloading the character itself.
I was so bloody right.
To start off on a bad foot, this scholar made Abubo a
6 button character. The transition from 4 to 6 button
is insulting, as most of this basics knockdown the opponent
for no reason, and his c and z crouching attacks are literally
the same as his medium attacks. These are bad enough as
is, but they also show Ex Infernis' mastery of clsns,
as shown in the 1st screenshot. You'd think that the trip
would hit the player, considering that the opponent is
standing right beside him. You can tell that KFM
was used in this; Ex didn't even change the width to properly
suit Abubo. The horror continues, as I checked out the
special moves and DMs.
The classic trademark of Ex Infernis' characters emerges
once more: horrible commands! He changes every move command
to a QCF motion, which makes everything far too cheap.
Not too mention that each move is botched up in many ways,
and many take way too much life away. D,F,DF and fierce
take away virtually half of the lifebar in 3 hits. Considering
that it can be repeated over and over, and that it
cannot be blocked, this is an easy way to kill just
about anyone. I'm not even fathom on why the hell the
2nd throw was titled "AlphaCountr" in the readme.
His counter specials are miserable failures, as they have
far too quick starting time, and they can be interrupted
when they couldn't in the original.
The DMs are just a poor rendition of the originals, with
the 3rd version taking away a giant amount of life. The
1st and 2nd are just fragments of Abubo's 1st real DM.
They are completely worthless, and are simply filler for
this Capcomized Abubo.
This is a complete waste of time. Don't even think about
going to his site to pick it up. You would better spend
your time clipping toenails then playing as this poor
excuse for Abubo for mugen.
